Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Guillermo Martinez has served for more than 15 years in several financial positions for selected Grupo Salinas companies. In 1999, he joined Unefon, a wireless carrier now owned by Iusacell, as financial planning manager. In 2001, he assumed the duties of corporate finance director, and in 2005, he became the director of financial planning and executive information system.
In 2008, Mr. Martinez joined Azteca America, a broadcasting network focused on the U.S. Hispanic market wholly owned by TV Azteca (one of the two largest producers of Spanish-language television programming in the world). As director of financial analysis, he was involved in the development and analysis of key strategic, financial, and operational metrics.
Prior to joining Grupo Salinas, Mr. Martinez worked in Análisis y Desarrollo de Proyectos (ADP), a Mexican consulting company providing integrated strategic solutions for companies in a variety of industries, including financial services, transportation, and energy.
As a key member of the executive management team, Mr. Martinez has the primary day-to-day responsibility of planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This includes responsibility for accounting, tax, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, personnel management, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships, and private and institutional financing.
Mr. Martinez holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration with a major in marketing and finance from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). He is fluent in Spanish and English.
